Ever heard of the pinewood derby ! 

Wolf on Wheels is the OSG local spin on a pinewood derby style car toy race.   Scouts use kits to make a toy car that is then raced down a aluminum track with electronic scoring.   It is a great event with prizes given in multiple categories.    This years prizes will be:

 - Wolf on Wheels Speedster Awards

 - Whacky Wolf Award - for the craziest car, let your imagination run wild!   Think about Portland Art Cars. 

 - Rainbow Wolf Award - for the car with the best paint job.

 - Realism Award - for the car that looks the most like a real car. 

Feel free to use modern tools to make your cars but have them build as much of the car as possible.   In past years, scouts of have also used a knife to whittle the tools.

Tips:

- The cars run in a slot down the track so the width of the wheels should not be altered.  

- The max weight of a car is 5 ounces, thus for any wood you remove, you should add it back with some sort of weight.
